Transcend’s SSD720 is a next generation SATA III 6Gb/s solid state drive (SSD) that doubles the maximum data transfer rate of the previous Serial ATA II 3Gb/s interface. Designed with multitasking power users in mind, the productivity-enhancing SSD720 will revolutionize system boot up time, application launch speed, and overall system responsiveness.
High-End Applications Combining the latest SATA III 6Gb/s specification with a powerful SandForce controller, the SSD720 offers transfer speeds of up to 560MB/s read and 540MB/s write. In addition to these incredible sequential transfer rates, the SSD720 supports lightning-fast 4k random file writes up to 86,000 IOPS, taking a mere 15 seconds to transfer a 4.7GB DVD.
Equipped with the fastest type of MLC flash chips available, the SSD720’s 24nm synchronous toggle mode NAND modules work effectively with the advanced SandForce controller, ideal for running demanding system applications, such as specialized multimedia computing and high-end gaming. Support for Native Command Queuing (NCQ) adds to the performance and efficiency features of the SSD720 by optimizing the order in which received read and write commands are executed.
To meet the size limitations of today’s modern Ultrabooks, netbooks, and notebooks, the SSD720 boasts a super slim thickness of just 7mm, compared with 9.5mm of most SSDs currently available. Although smaller in size, the 7mm SSD720 uses the same SATA connector used on a 2.5” hard disk drive (HDD) and is backwards compatible with SATA II (3Gb/s) and SATA I (1.5Gb/s) connection options for excellent multi-platform compatibility.
Built-In Reliability For Windows 7 users, the SSD720 fully supports the TRIM command to automatically remove deleted data permanently, helping to maintain optimum write speeds and prevent long-term SSD wear.
